THE FRANK E BOOMA POST 6 NEWSLETTER Founded 1919 APRIL 2007 Commander -- Eugene Bragg COMMANDER’S MESSAGE No message received. Gene Bragg, Post Commander ADJUTANT’S MESSAGE The year is coming to an end and there will be an election of Post officers at the next regular schedule meeting, Thursday, April 19, 2007. The voting will start at 0700 hours and end at 1900 hours. I will be running again for the position of Post Adjutant. There are many of you who know my record as a Post Commander, District Command, District Service Officer, Department Vice Commander, Department VA&R Chairman, Department Hospital Chairman and a DAV Driver, who pick up veterans at their home and drive them to the VA hospitals for their appointments and returns them to their home when their appointments are finished. If you feel that I have done a good job in the past, then give me your vote. Final List of Candidates for the 2007-2008 Post Offices
NOTE! All nominated candidate names are recorded in the order in which they were nominated. Again I want to remind you that if you have not paid your 2007 membership, please do so because National can forfeit your membership. George McCall, Post Adjutant SERGEANT-AT-ARMS’ MESSAGE The Post Color Guard will be holding its monthly Fish Fry on Friday, April 6, 2007 from 4 - 7 p.m. Dan Yoder, Sergeant-At-Arms To All Members: The American Legion Post 6 Portsmouth, NH Request the pleasure of your company for the Installation of Post officers on Thursday, the third of May 2007 at six o’clock in the Post Hall. PAST COMMANDER’S MESSAGE I want to inform everyone that I am a candidate for Adjutant this year. This is a position I feel is very important to the American Legion and its members. In order for you to vote for me, please look at my record in the past and the record of my opponents. Someone has put up a poster in the Post that states that bad candidates are elected by members that do not vote but in my opinion members that do vote elect good candidates. I have heard candidates making accusations against other candidates, not necessarily for the office they are running for but just the same, we should keep the election clean without innuendos, accusations or false information. Also, remember you should vote for a person for the job they will do and not because they are your friend or you like or dislike them. We elect people to do the job not because they are our friends. The American Legion is an important organization and does many good things in the community, state and nation and you need the best possible people to represent you in this organization. I think I have proven myself as Adjutant in the past and hope to in the future. I love this organization and serving the members and would like to continue into the future. May god bless our organization and the United States of America. Richard “Brooksie” Brooks, Past Commander SQUADRON COMMANDER’S MESSAGE
