 DECEMBER 2004

 Commander -- Richard “Brooksie” Brooks

Commander’s Message

I want to congratulate Commander Jim Clements and the Sons of the American Legion on a very good dedication ceremony for the POW/MIA monument at Langdon Park.  Everyone that attended was moved and impressed by the various events.  I want to thank Artie Vancour, our Jr. Vice Commander for an excellent Thanksgiving Dinner this year. He also had members of the Post, Auxiliary and Squadron helping as well as members from the community.  I will attempt to name them all and thank them.  Bruce Johnston, Ray Richardson, George McConnaughy, Buddy Nichols, Butch Lafrenier, Celeste Nichols, Bonnie Nichols, Angie Lafrenier, Sheila Vanalstine, Drew Hogan, Shaun Hogan, Ryan Hogan, Nathan Nichols III, Leroy Nichols, Bob Prendergast, Angelo Marcello, Katy and Rick Weller, Melissa, Brad, Tess & Mark Nicholson, Ron Lacroix, Hannah Fellows, & Doris whose last name I don’t have but she has been there for the last few years.  We have many functions coming up this month. Please check the newsletter in other areas for that information.  If a bartender asks you for your membership card, please do not be offended, they are required to do this by the State of New Hampshire Liquor Laws and this is to cover our organization. If you do not have a 2004 membership card on you, expect to be asked to be signed in.  It is not our requirement. Thank you.

Richard “Brooksie” Brooks- Commander

Adjutant’s Message

I am still getting complaints from the Legion, SAL and Auxiliary members concerning their not receiving their newsletter. There are two main reasons for this problem. One is that the members are not giving the Post their complete new address. In the future be sure that the Post has your correct mailing address. Below are the names of the delegates for the 2005 State Convention:  Carl Walton - Nathan Nichols - Keith Davis -Arthur Vancour - James Bailey –Marianne Perreault -Michael Richard - Richard “Brooksie” Brooks, Donald Poisson - George McCall.   Thank you.
