THE FRANK E BOOMA POST 6

 NEWSLETTER

Founded 1919

 JULY 2006

 Commander -- Eugene "Gene" Bragg

COMMANDER’S MESSAGE

We just returned from the Convention in Nashua and a good time was certainly had by all.  A BIG round of applause should go to our Color Guard again this year - our STATE Champion Color Guard Team AGAIN this year!!  The Installation that took place at the Convention had Booma see many of its members installed: Mariann Perreault as District 3 Commander, (Post); Karyl Horn as Department President (Auxiliary) and Paula Hollingsworth as District 3 Alternate Director (Auxiliary).

The American Legion Little League team kicked off its season on June 20, 2006 and I'm pleased to say that the team looked anxious and ready to start playing - win or lose, our "kids" are all winners and we wish them The Best this summer.  Many Post members came out to support the youth and that was good to see and for those who came out I want to say Thank You!

The official Summer of 2006 began on June 21, 2006 so this is a reminder to all to watch out for children, pedestrians and bike riders as we all get out to enjoy the summer heat.  Enjoy your summer no matter what you do - but do everything in moderation.

Yours in Service,

Eugene (Gene) Bragg, Post Commander

 SQUADRON COMMANDER’S MESSAGE

As Commander I was extremely proud to accept two awards on behalf of the Squadron at last month’s State Convention.  The first award was a certificate for all time high for membership.  This was possible thanks to all the work by Adjutant Bob Prendergast in sorting out and updating our members and to our Advisor Mariann Perreault for all her help with Bob.  The second award was the First Place plaque for contributions to Children and Youth programs.  All the members who helped out made this award possible.  THANK YOU ALL.

I hope every one has a good summer  Don’t forget the Children’s Outing.  Our next meeting is Wednesday, September 20, 2006.  Hope to see you there.

We are still looking for new items for our Cherry Tree in December.  See any Auxiliary officer if you need more information.
