THE FRANK E BOOMA POST 6 NEWSLETTER Founded 1919 MAY 2006 Commander -- Richard “Brooksie” Brooks COMMANDER’S MESSAGE I would like to congratulate Eugene Bragg on being elected Commander and all the other new officers of the Post. I want to congratulate President Ella Studrance and her officers and Commander Drew Hogan and his officers on their elections. It has been nice working with both the Auxiliary and the Squadron the last three years. I want to thank everyone that has supported me the last three years as Commander and allowed me to represent the Frank E. Booma Post 6, The American Legion. It has been an honor for me and I intend to stay involved and help Eugene in any way I can. I also want to thank the officers that served with me for the last three years; they have been an asset to the organization. The Installation Officers is on Friday, May 19, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. in the upstairs hall. Let’s have a good turnout from our Legion family for this event. We are getting into good weather, I think, so look for many of our upcoming events. Little League baseball has started and we sponsor two teams in the city and soon American Legion baseball will be starting and our summer outings and events are upcoming. Hope to see you all at some of these events. My best wishes to all the officers and members in the coming year and God Bless the American Legion and God Bless America. Thank you. Richard “Brooksie” Brooks, Post Commander SENIOR VICE COMMANDER’S MESSAGE I want like to extend my sincerest appreciation to all the members of Post 6 who thought it right to not only take the time to vote in their Post – but also to show their support of me and vote me in as the newest Post 6 Commander. I do sincerely thank all those who have placed their faith in me by their vote on April 20, 2006. The Post belongs to EVERY member and I want it to be a place every member feels welcome to come and bring guests. I look forward to the opportunity to serving you this next year and it will take ALL of US to make this Post what we know it can be and what we want it to be. Your presence at Post meetings and your opinions will most certainly be appreciated. Please feel free to contact me at any time with your thoughts and concerns as we go forward this year improving Post 6. I do not want to leave anyone out in the way of my “THANKS” but I do want to personally thank Elliott A., Tony L., George M. and Karyl H. for their support, help and encouragement – who clearly went “above and beyond” as friends and members of this Post.
